Running a little behind this week. Two quick things:
First, thanks to everyone who let me know about the type of content they prefer I include in Further. Every single response preferred text, which I found surprising. Maybe in doing this project primarily for myself over the last two years, I managed to attract people who are similar to me. I can live with that. 🙂
Second, I’m about halfway through The Power of Meaning: Crafting a Life That Matters by Emily Esfahani Smith (Amazon Associates). I’ll likely write something about it when I’m done, but if you’re looking for a great read on why we stay motived to keep going, you don’t want to miss this one.
Keep going-
Brian Clark

D for Sleep
It has recently been hypothesised that vitamin D may play a role in maintaining good sleep and that chronically low levels of vitamin D could result in impaired sleep. A new study finds a connection between vitamin D supplements and improved sleep for a group of people with sleep disorders.

Work It Out
Early humans had a simple, hard job: hunt and gather enough food to survive. These acts of survival, which were once part of daily life for hundreds of thousands of years, have just recently been replaced in modern times. So what makes work meaningful beyond survival?

Lucky Break

Slow Ride
Time seems to speed up as we get older, and the world is no longer new to us. Neuropsychologist David Eagelman, who studies time perception, calls time “a rubbery thing” that changes based upon where we are and our mental engagement with our experience. The more engaged we are with our experience, the longer it lasts.
